Roxor Ring Gear Spacer. This shim allows the use of common 4-series, 4.10 to 5.89, Dana 44 gears on the factory Roxor front or rear axle carrier. The Roxor, while a close cousin to the original USA version of the Dana 44, it does have unique carrier spacing. This had made installing lower gears difficult and expensive to now. This package also includes longer Grade 8 flange style 3/8 fine thread ring gear bolts to eliminate as many headaches as possible. ( Price includes USPS flat rate shipping )

Note: Installing gears is a technical operation that requires specialized tools, attention to detail, and patience. If you have any doubts please leave it to the professionals.

Technical Notes.

-The installation of a Ring and Pinion gear set requires exacting tolerances and setup. If you are new to this, I encourage you to review an installation guide like the one from Yukon Gear and Axle listed below. If you have any doubts about it, I suggest leaving the setup to a trusted professional shop.

-The Roxor uses a unique carrier spacing that is right in-between a traditional 3 and 4 series carrier from Dana/Spicer for a Dana 44 model axle. This spacer makes the carrier within 0.010 of the standard 4-series carrier which allows the use of 4.10 to 5.89 ring and pinion gear sets on the stock Roxor 19-spline carrier. The carrier bearing shims will need to be adjusted for proper backlash and carrier bearing preload for the Roxor or a Dana 44.

-The Roxor uses metric ring gear bolts. This kit provides replacement 3/8 ring gear bolts that are commonly used on 4-series ( NON-thick ) Dana 44 gear sets.

-Unless your Roxor has tens of thousands of miles you may reuse your existing carrier bearings. If they show any signs of damage or wear, they will need to be replaced. The carrier bearing is listed as 52979u. The carrier bearing race is listed as 52980u.

-The Roxor uses a crush sleeve to set pinion bearing pre-load. Most Dana 44 4-series gear sets use a series of shims under the outside pinion bearing to set the pinion bearing pre-load.

-The Roxor pinion yoke will swap directly onto a normal Dana 44 fine spline 26-spline pinion.

-The Roxor speed sensor, and factory speed limiter, is located on the rear output of the transfer case. That sensor will not be able to detect the change in ring and pinion ratio. Unless the tire diameter is perfectly increased to match the lower gearing in the axles, the ECM will need to be re-flashed to adjust or remove the speed limiter function.

I will continue to add more information to this as I can find it.
