A 36" section of the heavy duty reclaimed Wildland Fire Hose use on all the current soft rigging products from Brennan's Garage.
This is the best static guard material I have found for abrasion protection on synthetic rigging. The thick tough outer polyester weave in combination with the urethane liner outlives the industry typical tubular nylon webbing by 10:1!
A 1" inner diameter, laying flat at 1.75" outside and ~1.5" inside will fit snugly over the twin legs of up to 7/16" soft shackle. This is a much stiffer product than tubular nylon and will often require some help to pull the soft shackle through the inner liner. I typically use a length of plastic binding strap to pull the loop of the soft shackle through the guard. Once the loop is exposed, I insert an aluminum dowel through the loop and stand on that while I slide the guard material up into position on the soft shackle.
Color: Yellow. This is a reclaimed product and can have some dirt or ash on the exterior.
The 36" length is enough to protect two soft shackles fully.
The fire hose can be cut with heavy duty scissors or shears.
Note: I do not recommend using this material for a 'sliding' guard such as a winch line application. The urethane inner liner is too 'sticky' for this typically. This is best used as a static guard where the rope is not trying to slide through the guard.
USPS ground shipping is included in the price ( and is about half the cost! )
